This water plant was in full bloom when I visited our local botanical gardens to get pictures of the monarch butterflies, but caught this shot as part of my visit.
While hiking back from Shinning Rock on the Art Lobe Trail I was graced with the crazy cloud formations at sunset.
Graveyard Fields is a popular stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a very easy, pleasant hike. I liked the way the colors in this image almost made it look like a painting.

These ants were just outside my front porch. In order to fill the frame without crowding the subject I opted for a 21mm extension tube attached to my 70-210 lens. I was then able to set up my tripod at a more comfortable distance for us both.
Located at 907 Whitehead St, Key West, FL 33040, the Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum has a lovely garden complete with resident cats. This Hibiscus blossom was one of many in the gardens surrounding the historic home.

I was in Lake City before heading to American Basin and I happened to spot a barrel full of flowers in front of the library.

Looking up at fresh snow clinging on the branches, similar in appearance to cherry blossoms. An open lens captures the contrasting shadows and highlights of the branches as well as the deep blue sky.
Just a wild flower growing in the long grass but some quite lovely colors if you actually focus on the 'weed'.

Taken a couple of weeks ago. Out of the three lens's I own the Nifty Fifty spends the least amount of time attached to the camera. Must use at a little more! 1/3200 @ f/1.8 to catch the single wild summer flower in focus on a blowy afternoon.
