As I was coming flying to to Kabul from the South, the amazing vastness of the regions desert is powerful. As winter turns to spring, the dust is low, the sun is bright and the results are stunning vast landscapes to behold.

This picture was taken as I turned away from the sunset and noticed how the sunset had affected the cloud on the opposite side of the sand dune. This was taken on a hike with the Forest Ranger guide through the Sand Dunes of White Sands, NM.
Was heading back to Phoenix from touring Vulture Mine Ghost town. The skies were full of dramatic clouds as a cool front was rolling in.
October evening on top of the dune field, clear skies ensure great shadows. I use a long lens to isolate portions of the dunes. I saw this area light up as the sun lowered in the sky. I shot this seen at 270mm F11.

I captured this sunrise across Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley National Park after two days of fierce winds and rain hammered the park. The morning skies cleared, painting the trackless dunes with pure golden glow.

This old building front still stands without the rest of the building but has a sign that says open which i think is humorous. This is in the old mining town of Jerome which is west of Sedona, Arizona.

Along side the highway in central New Mexico I saw this abandon house and old car in the yard.
This is a view from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The canyon scene was framed with trees and rocks on the rim edge. The picture was taken in color and converted to black and white in Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI.
This photo is Color Balanced blue but the flowers retained their color. After increasing the saturation, there appeared to be a light emitting from inside the flower.
