Moose Falls was running stong and the surrounding vegetation was full of lush color due to the heavy run off from record breaking snowfall.
The green and yellow colors of this stream were caused by the geothermal conditions of Norris Geyser Basin in Yellowstone NP. Different color algea grow based on the water temperature.
A small valley dropping sharply down from the ice fields brings fresh water and minerals to nourish the beginnings of a forest in this very fresh landscape. If the Glaciers don't return, this will be heavily forested in a century or two more.

Over look of yosemite mountains with snow. Clouds came together and looked like a giant bird. Pretty interesting.

This beautiful plant can be found in the forests of Ketchikan, Alaska. During the spring and summer it is bright green, and in fall the leaves turn to a beautiful shade of purple.

This image is from an actual working Flour Mill in Woodland Washington. On this day I decided to use a polarizer for richness eventhough it was drizzling out, keeping colors saturated, I feel it helped the colors of fall here really pop.

Wandering through our friends' garden, seeking out the last, tastiest autumn strawberries of the season, I spotted this beautiful vine clinging to the garden fence.
I decided to move to the other side of the pond for a sunrise shot, and this is what I saw.
This is about as much color as we get around the Coastal South.
