As the sun dropped just below the horizon, Yosemite's Cathedral Peak lit up in the most incredible alpenglow I have ever seen. This only lasted for a few minutes and then it was gone. A truly amazing sunset.

The last bit of alpenglow fades from Mt. St. Helens as the sun dips below the horizon. The color on the mountain at sunset here starts golden, then red, and as it fades it turns this purplish color, I assume from the gray ash side.
