This photo was taken near the Merced River at the parking area for the Gateway to Yosemite Valley viewing area. The shot was taken July 1st it was a clear sky that night, I waited until around 11:00PM to start taking photos.

This was taken on a early morning trip to one of the silver falls state parks water falls.
As I approach it along the trail it is difficult to notice the arch as its shape blends in well with the background of red rocks the rubbles beneath it. When I notice a slice of sky shows up I realized how thin the arch is.
Under midday sun the arch cast a shadow under which people are resting after a good hike. Including people shows the majestic size of the arch.
I captured this lightning shot during a storm and later realized the bolt is in the shape of a cross.
