Early spring sunset from Yaki Point overlook
This view is looking south from the top of Steptoe Butte in the Palouse hills in eastern Washington. I happened to visit the butte on a pleasant evening in late July in 2009.
After arriving late at night on Grand Mesa I was rewarded with this view; I immediately saw the potential for star trails and a moonlit foreground. This image represents my vision of the experience there that night.
