The beautiful Sabrina Lake is located in California’s Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range, high in the Inyo National Forest at an elevation of 9,138 feet. The place felt very serene when I visited the lake one morning during October.

A hiking trail follows the bluffs above Pickle Creek in Hawn State Park and when the light, wind and autumn colors are just right - voila!
I was packing up my gear as it was closing time at the Missouri Botanical Gardens on a lovely fall day. Suddenly the sun struck the lake and it began to glow. I unpacked my gear, set up my tripod and had time to take two images before the light was gone.
