While traveling up Mt. Evans highway we came across this dramatic scene, as the clouds that would eventually engulf us rose up from below. The clouds became so thick that I couldn't see more then a foot in front of me by the time I reached the peak.
Shot from a helicopter, the river receives its color from the high silt content of the glacier that feeds it, while the dark streaks are created by groups of spawning salmon. It's truly an amazing sight.
