The remainder of tropical storm Sandy leaving the Valley.

Osprey & Chicks

Osprey & Chicks

These Osprey have raised a brood here for at least 4 years now. Shortly after these chicks fledged the tree was felled for a new home. The birds quickly rebuilt in a tree about 30ft. from the original tree. I'm looking forward to the next brood!

Predawn White Sands

Predawn White Sands

Predawn here in the white dunes is spectacularly peaceful. Though the color is subtle here, the image is all aabout color.

Mesa Arch

Mesa Arch

I took the usual "under the arch" sunrise shots here, but I wanted a photo that was more unique so I waited for the sun to peek over the top of the arch! That created a sunburst effect and out of about 200 photos I took here, this turned out to be my...

Antelope Canyon

A Magical Evening

A Magical Evening

Early on the evening of February 18, 2012, a broad and very bright arc of auroral light appeared over the Fairbanks, Alaska, area. Over the next hour and a half the band split into multiple bands and various shapes which changed every minute. It was...

Bluebelt

A Green Sea Anemone, with mussels in the backgroud, sharing the same tide pool. I often see the mussels in the mouth of the anemone and also in the grips of sea stars. Another spectacular light reflection through the anemone and surrounding objects...

Prisim Of Light Underwater

Prisim Of Light Underwater

With the shortening days, the light gets lower and the tides get lower as well. A sea anemone can look totally different underwater than looking down into the tide pool. My camera and I love bringing these amazing images to share with those who...

Alone

Alone

If there were ever an image that showcased an intense sense of feeling for me than this was it. The title pretty much sums it up. Standing here alone in the pre sunrise glow in the cool crisp eastern sierra air beneath these beautiful mountains is...

Magnificant Hummingbird

Magnificant Hummingbird

A Magnificent Hummingbird defends a feeder in Madera Canyon. Santa Rita Lodge has a number of feeders set up around its cabins. This Magnificent Hummingbird took possession of one of them and swooped in to chase any other hummingbird away.

Tasmania Tulip Field

Tasmania Tulip Field

This is a commercial tulip farm where bulbs are grown for export. There are several tulip farms near Burnie but this one had the best topography and the greatest variety of colors.

Wall Of Yellow

Wall Of Yellow

A dense grove of young aspens along Route 2 near Lake Wenatchee provided a nice opportunity for a tight composition.

Praise The Fallen

Praise The Fallen

I had been taking pictures of a tree as the sun was rising and following where the sun was hitting. It was shinging right down at my feet. The leaves that had fallen were all lit up so I decided to take a picture of them.

Winter Sunrise On Manley Beacon In Death Valleynational Park

Mallard Drake In Flight

Esquimalt Lagoon has always been one of my favourite places to photograph ducks, mute swans and great blue herons.

Sunrise Monuments

Sunrise Monuments

We went to Bryce Canyon at sunrise on Sunrise Point. It was worth the wait to see the sun light up the sand formations and really show the colors.

Desert Dew

Desert Dew

I found this plant covered in dew, shortly after a late summer monsoon thunderstorm finished raining down on the valley. The ambient morning light along with rain gear and patience were all that was required.

A Moment Of Clarity

A Moment Of Clarity

I stood very carefully balanced on an exposed outcrop of rock 40 feet out into the bay as waves crashed around me. I aimed my lens down at the crystal clear water as it bent the light onto the rocks below.
