As the sun set, the ocean turned very blue and provided a nice contrast to the orange sunset. Orange and blue are opposites on the color wheel. Proof that they do compliment each other.

Hiking in the southeastern tip of Oahu, Hawaii just before rain clouds come in.
I shot this about 10-15 minutes after sunset overlooking Madison's Lake Mendota from the north shore. I bracketed 3 images and tipped my lens just enough to get a round planet effect. I added a full moon layer to finish out the photograph.

Sometimes texture can be manipulated by shutter speed. Using 1/8 second shutter here allowed the slower moving water to blend into a silken texture, while the faster water was still depicted sharply as it rushed off of these flat rocks. Fall colors...
