Photo Details

  • Title: The Gift
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Nepal
  • Nearest Area: Everest Region
  • Nearest Town: Pheriche
  • Description: The spectacular sunset on my Birthday at 15,000 feet in the Everest region of Nepal.
  • Brief Directions: The trek to Everest basecamp takes 2 weeks if you start at the airstrip at Lukla. This was teken above the village of Pheriche.
  • Notes: Autumn (October-November) offers the best trekking weather and the mountains are gleaming white in the clear air after the summer monsoon snows. February and March are known for colder weather but the trek is possible if you are prepared. You will see only half the number of trekkers so the experience is more culturally authentic.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Gear: Canon 5D MkII
