  • Description: This shot was one of my first ever star trail image. It was a 16.5 minute exposure and the hardest part was probably finding the proper foreground that was appealing AND that framed the North star in which all the other stars rotated around.
  • Brief Directions: Joshua Tree National Park lies 140 miles east of Los Angeles, 175 miles northeast of San Diego, and 215 miles southwest of Las Vegas. You can approach it from Interstate 10 and Hwy 62 (Twentynine Palms Highway). The closest airport is in Palm Springs. Public transportation to the park is not available.

  • Gear: Nikon D700, Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8, Nikon MC-36 Release Cord, Bogen tripod and head
