  • Nearest Area: Yosemite National Park
  • Nearest Town: Tuolumne Meadows
  • Description: While backpacking the entire Pacific Crest Trail this spring fall and summer I took this photo. I had left Tuolumne Meadows and heard word of fire in the direction I was heading. I could see the smoke and with the sunset happening the clouds of smoke too on a great color. I waded out in to the Tuolumne river and set up for the sot using my tripod, it was a challenge because the water was ice cold and moving very fast.
