  • Brief Directions: Balanced Rock can be reached by traveling East from Presidio or South from Marathon to Big Bend National Park in far Southwest Texas. Take Grapevine Road for 6 miles to reach trailhead. A moderate hike and a short climb up the mountainside takes you to the rock formation.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Description: This balanced rock formation is a natural occuring phenomenna caused by an uplift in the earth's surface years ago. The natural occuring "window" frames Nugent Peak in the distance; location- Grapevine Hills in Big Bend National Park-Texas.
