Young Explorers

  • Title: Young Explorers
  • State/Province/Region: Washington
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Adams County
  • Description: Typically inhabiting the vacated underground dwellings of another animal, the female Burrowing Owl will lay an average of 3-12 eggs. Approximately three to four weeks later the young will hatch, and after another few weeks they will begin to leave the burrow to explore. I counted eight juvenile owls at this particular burrow. They all were very curious.
