Notes

Hundreds of gulls were enjoying the beach at the end of the day. I had been shooting the gulls in different compositions around the beach for about 40 minutes when someone brought 2 big dogs to the beach and turned them loose. This is what happened, fortunately the setting sun lights them beautifully. My tripod was already set up for an earlier composition but I still only had time for 1 good shot before the gulls were completely gone. The black blur on the horizon line, a little ways behind the man, is one of the dogs.

Description

Gulls gathering at the end of the day on Capitola Beach, somewhat destroyed by a series of winter storms.
