Brief Directions: The project is in the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest on State Route 410, Naches, Washington.
Best Season: Summer
Description: David H Johnson and David Oleyar attach a geoloactor and band to a Flammulated owl.
Flammulated owls are small nocturnal owls. The researchers, students, and volunteers use mist nets to capture the owls. Not an easy task at night in steep forests. The owls nest in tree cavities.
The Flammulated owls are potentially a species of concern for the US Fish and Wildlife Service because of habitat destruction.
