With the lack of winter weather Arizona had been experiencing in the beginning of 2012, mother nature finally gave us something amazing. An incredible winter storm swept through the state dumping a few feet of snow in the high country. With the much cooler temperatures swaying down towards the valley, the high desert also was fortunate to get some of the white powder. Snow in the high desert happens once a year with a good winter storm. I took advantage and headed out. I found a great sea of cacti to pick and choose a foreground, and pointed towards the dusted glowing peaks while the light began to change. It was a great experience, and a unique scene for what most people think the desert is a dry and barren place.
