The beaches in Tybee Island are well known for their sea turtle nesting grounds. We visited in the wrong season to see them, but it was obvious that the locals were very proud and protective of the turtles.
It was my first time visiting Tybee Island and it was wonderful. In the Autumn, the temps were reasonable and there wasn't any humidity. There were virtually no crowds, but I could imagine that during the Summer the place is probably packed. There are many sights to see on the island including a light house, historic Fort Pulaski, beautiful island homes and much more.
