On a heavily overcast day, I stumbled upon a beach of small smooth stones. I walked towards the ocean, which was at low tide, turned past a large pool and saw this image. I set up my camera and waited until the sun would break through the dense clouds, which took almost an hour. I l moved to track the sun to keep it roughly between the two natural spires. Finally I left, not having what I wanted. When I had turned around and walked away, I saw the sky brighten. I ran back to my last position, set up my camera and made two series of 5 bracketed exposures. The second bracket set was the best. The second after my last exposure, the sun ducked behind those clouds again, not to be seen for the rest of my visit.
