It's at the very south of South America. The best way to get there is to fly from Buenos Aires into El Calafate and take a daily bus to El Chalten. This place is several miles hike from El Chalten inside Los Glaciares National Park.
What an incredible experience this was - trekking and camping in the most beautiful and pristine part of the globe. Jagged mountains, dramatic skies, richly diffused colors everywhere - jaw-dropping iconic vistas everywhere! It was a late Fall in there, so there were few people there and I felt like I had the whole mountains to myself. This also made the encounters with the few people I met incredible, too.
