Description

On May 20, 2012, an annular solar eclipse occured, which was visible from many places in the southwest. The light produced by the eclipse was incredibly interesting and difficult to describe. Honestly, if you didn't know there was an eclipse, you'd barely notice a difference! But when full annularity occurred, there was a cool temperature to the light, which was bizarre for an hour before sunset. After a long day of standing in the heat, the coolness of the shadow of the moon was a great relief, which is the feeling I feel I've portrayed in this photograph.
