  • Description: While the wind was creating really neat conditions with the fog as it rolled over the Roan Highlands along the borders of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, it was also wreaking havoc on the foreground foliage in photography terms! This shot was taken during tha annual wild Catawba Rhododendron bloom in June. During sunrise when the light is at the appropriate angle, the mountainsides seem to turn magenta pink with all of the blooms!
