- Title: Into The Depths
- State/Province/Region: Arizona
- Country: United States
- Nearest Area: Grand Canyon National Park
- Nearest Town: Tusayan
- Best Season: Winter
- Description: On my most recent trip to the Grand Canyon, a winter storm pushed through the area that dumped over a foot of snow on the south rim and made travel increadibly treacherous. To those visiting the park during those times, the mammoth sights of the canyon laid cloaked in a thick blanket of fog for the majority of the day. On the morning of my third day at the park, I ventured out to to one of my absolute favorite locations on the south rim. I arrived about an hour before sunrise, only to find the fog appeared to be as thick as ever. With sub zero temperatures and howling winds, I set up my tripod and kept my camera close to my body to keep it warm as I waited for any chance of light to appear. As the sun cleared the horizon and poured into the canyon, the fog quickly burnt off for a split second. The canyon appeared in front of me for a matter of minutes, before the clouds on the rim were rapidly sucked into the canyon.
