- Description: This was an early sunrise shot on a rainy morning in Glacier National Park. I had been shooting the day before at the rivers edge shown in the lower part of this image, I happened to look up the mountain behind me and saw these old windblown trees that seemed to be calling out to me. I decided I would try the next morning at this mountain location.
The next morning started as a really nasty day, rainy and very strong winds, and clouds everywhere of course but I was there I might as well hike up and recon the area for compositions if nothing else.
The hike was much steeper than it looked from below, but after climbing roughly 1000'
I found this foreground which was framed nicely by the old trees so I decided to set up for the shot as the rain was letting up. The clouds to the East were started to break up and low and behold the sunrise had an opportunity to work its magic. It was one of those times that I had hoped I would have someday, the stormy clouds in the frame with the glow from the sun on the mountains.
Finally Mother Nature was struting her stuff and I just happened to be at the same dance
