Brief Directions: I was driving south on Highway 163, heading for Monument Valley and then on to Kayenta. I ran across this scene just before reaching the turnoff to the entrance to Monument Valley.
Best Season: Autumn
Description: Approaching Monument Valley from the north, I saw the makeshift structures that the Native American use to sell their handcrafted items. Typically, they use flags (mainly the Stars and Stripes) to draw attention to their wares. I found the distinctive Monument Valley buttes to be a perfect backdrop for the backlit flags.
