Description: This was my first opportunity to photograph a Mandarin Duck drake. I felt very fortunate that it was so photogenic for me. It was very calm and gave me a variety of great poses. It was a sunny day and at first it was in an area of the creek where the sunlight provided some very nice light, making it's colors really stand out. Then it decided to move to a shaded area and preen. In the soft light I hoped its vibrant colors would still be showcased; and they were, and I was pleasantly surprised.
