I captured this image in October while my son and I were traveling to the east side of the Sierra to photograph the fall colors. I've driven by Tenaya Lake many times, but never stopped to explore until the evening I took this photograph. We initially tried various compositions closer to the road with less than satisfactory results. With the light fading, we made our way west until we found this composition. With the light fading, my first 30 second exposure was too short, so I went with a 2 minute exposure and used my head lamp to light up the rocks in foreground.
