Description

Driving to work each day in Wisconsin, I choose a longer route to enjoy the peace and scenic beauty of the country roads over the busy Interstate. I noticed this tree many times on my route, and always wanted to photograph it should the right conditions arise. One day in early spring I passed by and saw fresh bright budding leaves sprouting from the tree branches and glowing from the backlight of the sun. I quickly pulled over and managed to capture a few shots on my Iphone, though I envisioned a much higher resolution image with a rush of clouds the background. I knew I only had a short number of days to photograph it before the thin baby leaves would darken and lose their translucent quality. On my third attempt, over a 4 day period, I was fortunate enough to get the cloud formations I was hoping for, and the entire scene came together as I envisioned!
