Immediately east of New Mexico State Highway 68, a few miles south of Taos. It's about one hour north of Santa Fe.
This church was photographed by Ansel Adams and Paul Strand and painted by Georgia O'Keeffe. Little wonder why! It's adobe shapes feel like handmade pottery on a large scale. When I visit and photograph it (as I have done many times), I see geometries -- everything one could want to know about geometic shapes. The light on the church changes throughout the year, and it's worthwhile photographing in different seasons.
