Q: How many photos can I enter?
A: For this contest, we allow up to 5 photos maximum per person. Submitting more than 5 will disqualify you from the contest.
Q: I submitted five photos. Why did only one of them or none of them make it into the gallery?
A: Each person’s photos are subject to approval. Once you submit photos, one of our editors approves or disapproves each photo for the online gallery. Additionally, title your photos with alphanumeric characters only. Please do not use apostrophes, ampersands or any other character symbol, as doing so may cause errors during uploading.
Q: When can I vote for the People's Choice Awards?
A: The voting period for the People’s Choice Awards is April 19, 2010, through May 25, 2010.
Q: How do I vote during the People's Choice Award Voting Period?
Step 1: Log in to your OP account or, if you don't yet have an account, register.
Step 2: Check out the Finalists Gallery to see which images are eligible for your vote. The Finalists Gallery will be posted on April 19, 2010.
Step 3: Vote! Simply click on any photo and rate it using the 5-star scale. Vote for as many photos as you’d like!
Q: When will the winners be notified?
A: Sometime in June 2010.
Q: When will the winners be announced?
A: The Grand Prize winner’s photo will be published in the August 2010 issue of Outdoor Photographer. The People’s Choice Award winners will be announced online sometime in September 2010.
Q: What are the prizes?
A: Grand Prize: Publication of your photo in the August 2010 issue, $1,500 cash, a Tamrac Aero Speed Pack 85 Dual Access Photo/Laptop Backpack, a Duggal 16x20 print of your photo, a Gitzo GT2541 Carbon Fiber tripod and GH2780QR head, a Lumiquest Promax system and a PNY 8GB Hi-Speed Class 6 SDHC memory card.
First Place Package: A Tamrac Velocity 8x Pro Sling Pack Model 5768, a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 carbon fiber tripod and 496RC2 head, a Lumiquest Softbox III, a PNY 8GB Standard Class 4 SDHC memory card and a Duggal 16x20 print of your photo.
People’s Choice Prize: Online publication of the winning photo in the Winners Gallery. More prize details will be released shortly.
Q: When I try to enter online, I get an error message. What's going on?
A: Often, if your first attempt at entering online isn’t successful, our system won’t let you enter again—it’s a way to prevent duplicate submissions. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies—even restarting your computer—and go to the online entry page again.
Q: I've tried clearing my cache and cookies, and I even bought a new computer. The online entry form just isn't working for me.
