Photo Of The Day by Rebecca Wilks

Padre Bay Reflections by Rebecca Wilks

While exploring the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Rebecca Wilks came across this vista of Padre Bay. She says, "Hiking down the slickrock from a very productive afternoon shooting, the light across Padre Bay stopped me in my tracks.I love the dreamy quality and the shapes in this image." Wilks sent the image to the Panoramas & Vertoramas Assignment which is open through midnight on Sept 10th. This subject is ideally suited to the panorama format. On bluebird days when the sky is a featureless patch of cyan, think about a panorama to focus on the interesting subject while omitting the dull sky. Of course, if you have a dramatic sky, show as much as you can!

Wilks used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L lens.

I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including AssignmentsYour Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
