Camp Barafu At Sunset, Mount Kilimanjaro

  • Title: Camp Barafu At Sunset, Mount Kilimanjaro
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Tanzania
  • Nearest Area: Mount Kilimanjaro
  • Nearest Town: Arusha
  • Notes: http://dboswellphotography.com
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: Camp Barafu is one of the high camps on Mount Kilimanjaro and is situated at 15,300 ft. above sea level. This was taken at sunset the night we were to go for the summit. We left at 11:30pm, hiked through the night to reach the summit, at 19,340 ft., just after sunrise. It's an amazing feeling sitting at 19,000 ft., watching the sunrise over a layer of clouds blanketing the landscape below.

Thanks Laura!! I walked into this little slot canyon till it was completely dark and thought I'd sort of found nothing much…then turned around and saw THIS. I was gem for sure.

Wow, just beautiful! The light is perfect and I love the curve of the tree and the lines of the canyon wall.
