Seeing Through

  • Title: Seeing Through
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Kenya
  • Nearest Area: Masia Mara
  • Nearest Town: Nairobi
  • Brief Directions: from NAirobi one can take a 6 hour drive or fly in in a small aircraft. You must know which camp you are staying so you could take the plane. There are a few landing strips in the bush.
  • Notes: carry a tripod and bean bags. There are instances where you can not get down from your vehicle as it is in the wild...
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: The Masai mara does give you the best "clutter free" sunsets you get to see in the world. This shot was interesting as I am seeing the sun setting through the solitary tree in the distance.
  • Gear: Canon 5D Mark III, 70-200 f2.8 lens

Very nice set of "Arches" Stephen. Wasn't sure, but thought someone said one of the famous landmarks fell? Really enjoyed the "Double Windows" when there!

That moose is a "spike" i.e. a very young juvenile, probably on his first year away from mom. His antler's will fill out further in the next few years.

Very interesting post Donna and Mike on Moose/Antlers. Not sure what may have caused the change in antlers, but pretty sure the one will end up looking like one of these in a few years.
