Cheetah_02

  • Title: Cheetah_02
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Kenya
  • Nearest Area: Masai Mara
  • Notes: The cat stands out from the foliage more in grayscale than in color. I added a slight yellow/orange tint to the darks and midtones. In my print I cropped some foliage to put her eyes and her hips at upper 1/3 points.
  • Description: This young cheetah and her two sisters, recently left to fend for themselves by their mother, had just chased but not caught a gazelle. Tired, she was walking slowly back to their lookout spot atop a small hill.
  • Gear: Canon 70-300mm IS f/4-5.6, Kodacolor Gold 800 print film
