The Brokenness Of War

  • Title: The Brokenness Of War
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Iraq
  • Nearest Area: The Green Zone
  • Nearest Town: Baghdad
  • Notes: I was on assignment with the US Army Corps of Engineers to finalize the building contracts that the US did for the country of Iraq.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Description: This is the footing of one of the hands that is holding the crossed swords in Baghdad. The ground is inlaid with the helmets of killed Iranian soldiers from previous battles with Iraq. The thumb of the statue is broken and laying on top of the helmets and to me symbolizes the brokenness of war for all concerned.

"Absolutely in the right place at the right time". So very rare to see a double rainbow let alone have your camera with perfect glowing conditions.. Great capture
