Rice After Harvest

  • Title: Rice After Harvest
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Viet Nam
  • Nearest Area: Lao Cai
  • Nearest Town: Sapa
  • Brief Directions: Just a few miles out of the town of Sapa. Rent a scooter and be prepared for the breathtaking scenary that surrounds you the instant you depart the small town.
  • Notes: A scooter with a small basket on the front or access to storage under your scooter seat for your camera gear is a must. You will kick yourself later if you don't bring a nice light tripod.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Description: I rented a scooter in the famous french Northern Vietnamese town called Sapa and got this nice deep green rice field shot. There are abundant in Vietnam but really rich in the north I found.
  • Gear: Winter woollies its much colder up there than the rest of Vietnam.

Thank you kindly Laura! It's an area I really enjoy photographing called "Rim Of The World"! I enjoyed your gallery also, with the beautiful images of La Jolla Reefs/North County~ Love that area!!!

Thanks Alena and David! I took a lot of shots of this landscape, but placing a person in the shot imparted the sense of amazement and exhilaration I was trying to capture. Merry Christmas!
