Matawe Tideland

  • Title: Matawe Tideland
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Philippines
  • Brief Directions: Dingalan is the southernmost town of Aurora; it is separated from the rest of the province by the Sierra Madre mountains. Nestled at the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range, Dingalan's terrain is generally hilly and mountainous.Large boulders of black igneous rock litter the mountainside all the way from the borders of the province, despite the absence of volcanoes in the area. Some local residents suggest that the rocks must date back to prehistoric times, since they've been there as long as the residents' ancestors could remember.
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Description: Shot using a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II lens on a Canon 5Dmk2 body. A Lee 0.9 SE GND was used to underexpose the sky 3-stops and a 4-stop Hoya ND16 to capture the streaking waves.
  • Gear: Canon 5Dmk2 | Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L II

Another wonderful image of Owens Valley Laura! I'll be heading through the area tomorrow on my way up to June Lake and the like for quick photo trip. Hoping for a bit of snow!

Very colorful capture David! I agree, it's a great place to visit/photograph. It's a shame that the "middle bridge" gave way. Would have been neat to work with the entire area. Still a fabulous...
