  • Title: Sublime Dawn
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Costa Rica
  • Nearest Area: Guanacaste
  • Nearest Town: S├ímara
  • Brief Directions: Fly to San Jose, Costa Rica and either drive or take a bus to the town of Samara on the Nicoya Peninsula. Then stroll down to the beach.
  • GPS Longitude: -85.518077
  • GPS Latitude: 9.879282
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Description: The white sands of the beach at Playa, Samara on the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica, have an amazing reflective quality when wet. In this picture, there is a retreating tide, providing this magical double dawn. The area is wonderful, howler monkeys in the trees, an abundance of bird life from waders and pelicans to parakeets and hummingbirds. The area, the weather and the wildlife combine to make a remarkably sublime place.
