Multicolored Hills Of Val Di Orcia

  • Title: Multicolored Hills Of Val Di Orcia
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Italy
  • Nearest Area: Val di Orcia
  • Nearest Town: Pienza
  • Brief Directions: There is a road that runs from Montepulciano to Montalcino and it goes through Pienza. After you leave Pienza you will approach the hilly farmland in the val di orcia area. It depends on how the sun is shining but the colors are unusual.
  • Description: The Val di Orcia is noted for the unusual colors of the farmland. This farm has been recently plowed and the soil is clay. It gives the fields an unusual color. Off in the distance you can view a village and more fields. The Val di Orcia is noted for the many painters who have been entranced with the colors of the hills.

Thank you kindly Laura! It's an area I really enjoy photographing called "Rim Of The World"! I enjoyed your gallery also, with the beautiful images of La Jolla Reefs/North County~ Love that area!!!

Thanks Alena and David! I took a lot of shots of this landscape, but placing a person in the shot imparted the sense of amazement and exhilaration I was trying to capture. Merry Christmas!
