Consolation Lake

  • Title: Consolation Lake
  • State/Province/Region: Alberta
  • Country: Canada
  • Nearest Area: Hwy 93
  • Nearest Town: Banff
  • Brief Directions: From Banff to Lake Louise on Hy 93 and then 10 KM on Morrain Lake Road to the trail-head on Morrain Lake
  • Notes: Consolation Lake is set beneath imposing Bident Mountain and Mount Quadra, both in excess of 10,000 ft, on the lovely meadow, dotted with conifers and flanked by high cliffs and scree slopes. The lake is set in a dramatic ring of high peaks: to the left, the pointed summit of Mount Bell, rising above the lower flanks of Panorama Ridge; the magnificent snow-capped peaks of Quadra and Bident; and Mount Babel to the right. Behind to the north is imperious Mount Temple, its massive bulk completing a wonderful mountain panorama.

I like this image. Nice composition that leades you up the river. Nice color but not to oversaturated. Crisp and clear. Nice job.
