  • Title: Rails
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: Spain
  • Nearest Area: Malaga
  • Nearest Town: El Chorro
  • Brief Directions: From States: Fly to Malaga, Spain. Take a local train north from the main train station to the El Chorro train station. The King's Path is a 20 minute walk from there, and the trail itself is 3 km one way. Bring rock-harness, guides and be hired near the walkway.
  • Notes: Little to no professional photography has been done on this hidden Gem of a pathway to be restored by around 2013 DO NOT drop your tripod. I did. At the beginning. :(
  • GPS Longitude: 4
  • GPS Latitude: 36
  • Description: Caminito del Rey, or "The Kings Pathway" is arguably the pinnacle of the world's dangerous hikes. Built over 100 years ago, this old walkway has seemingly never been maintained or repaired. Suspended many hundreds of feet above a rocky and raging river, while supported by nothing other than sparse railroad ties, hollow Spanish bricks and thin concrete, the current state of disrepair has made this path one of the most adventurous experiences in the world.
