Palm Trees & Sand Dunes

  • Title: Palm Trees & Sand Dunes
  • State/Province/Region:
  • Country: United Arab Emirates
  • Nearest Area: Al Salamat
  • Nearest Town: Al Ain
  • Brief Directions: Heading from Abu Dhabi to Al Ain just before Al Salamat you find red sand dunes on both sides of the highway. These are on your right side. There is fencing all along the highway but the area is accessible through Al Salamat. 4X4 vehicle required.
  • Notes: I was impressed by the beautiful red colour of the sand.I framed the main dune together with an existing palm tree trying to compress the perspective as much as possible (given the limitations of the gear).
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Gear: Panasonic DMC - LX3
