  • Description: This breathtaking cenote is located deep within a cave of a natural park named Aktun Chen. It is located south of Akumal in the Mayan Riviera. The cenote has cool, crystal clear water that is 12 meters deep and is surrounded by a staggering number of stalactites and stalagmites. In the Mayan language, Aktun Chen means "cave with an underground river inside", while a cenote is the word used for "underground river". This Cenote is found near the end of a 600 meter trek through the largest of three caves.
