  • Description: The Mendenhall glacier area located at Juneau Alaska is a never ending subject matter for reflections and changing scenery. This October photo brings out the color and dynamics of water, ice and rock.
  • Brief Directions: Take the Glacier Highway from the airport a short 5 miles to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. Walk the trail systems and be ready for photos any time of year.
  • Notes: Alaska Weather is always a concern. Dress for rainforest type weather and yes a glacier is cold so layered clothing is the best. Good footwear and a tripod will go a long ways to capture the ever changing scenery. Early morning and evening light change the colors of the ice.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Gear: Canon T11
