  • Notes: This photo was shot from the second level of Serenity Restaraunt. Denise and I were on assignment for Wine and Dine San Diego, photographing food and taking notes for a restaraunt review. I would take a few shots of the eclipse every few minutes using a stack of neutral density filters. The sun set behind the Hyatt towers and I thought I was going to be stuck with a bunch of impropperly exposed photos lacking anything other than a bright cresent shape. Minutes before sunset the sun jumped out from behind the towers just above the cloud marine layer hovering over Point Loma. I had dissassembled the filter tray on my lens and was left shooting a manual exposure addjusting both apature and sutter speed rapidly until a shot developed. I have to call this one being at the right place at the right time.
