  • Title: Untitled
  • State/Province/Region: California
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: CA Highway 1
  • Nearest Town: Carmel Highlands
  • Brief Directions: Point Lobos State Reserve is located on California Hwy 1. From the Monterey/Carmel area go south towards Big Sur. The turnoff is about 3 miles from Carmel-by-the-Sea.
  • Notes: "the greatest meeting of land and water in the world" according to landscape artist Francis McComas. The area is great to visit anytime but due to the hours that Point Lobos is open, there aren't many days that you can be there for sunset. Best days are late fall and winter. http://pt-lobos.parks.state.ca.us/
  • Best Season: Winter

Thank you very much, Lorenzo! I was pretty happy to see those clouds coming in from the west as I was quickly setting up pre-sunset to get this side of the lighthouse. Thank you! --Jim--
