Fern Canyon

  • Title: Fern Canyon
  • State/Province/Region: California
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Town: Orick
  • Brief Directions: From Eureka, CA, 50 miles north to Orick, CA. FRom Hwy 101 turn left on Davidson Rd. (the Roosevelt Elk viewing area), then continue on Gold Bluffs Beach Rd. for several miles -- it is a slow drive. Park at the end of the road and hike -- it's a short hike. After rains the last couple of miles of the Gold Bluffs Beach Rd. could be closed to auto traffic.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: A deep Canyon in the Prairie Creek Redwood State Park. Its steep walls are overgrown by ferns. Because of this unusual flora, some scenes from the Jurassic Park were filmed there.

Stunning shot Terry. Love the clouds and drama they bring to the picture. Lorenzo

Thanks Laura, really appreciate it. I have printed it large several times, and really shines. We'll see!

Wow, this is just spectacular, and reading the backstory makes it even more so. I hope I see this in a double spread!
