Description: This is the landscape image I never expected to take. I was in Vegas with family last summer, and happened to glance outside our hotel window to see an impressive thunderstorm over the mountains just south of the city. I noticed occasional flashes of lightning, and on a whim quickly set up my camera with a long lens. I snapped away for about 20 minutes, having no idea if I captured anything worthwhile. It was only when I returned home and uploaded my images from the trip that I saw (in my very first exposure of the storm) a heart-shaped lightning bolt. Because of the near impossibility of the shot, and because of its inherent whimsy, it remains one of my favorite photographs I've ever taken.

whoa........... Gorgeous portrait. I've never seen a reddish egret. I'm about to move to Lakeland, FLA. this Summer. I hope to see one of these beauties first hand. So sad to know this one cannot...
