Rabbit Brush & Storm

  • Title: Rabbit Brush & Storm
  • State/Province/Region: California
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Mono Lake
  • Nearest Town: Lee Vining
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: As I was running out to an amazing looking tufa formation on Mono Lake, with thunder cells, rain and rainbows flowing across the lake; I stopped for a second and looked back over my shoulder - just in time to see this blast of rays breaking through the clouds. I quickly grabbed my camera and set up hoping that the rays would last long enough to get a couple of exposures & they did.

Very nice set of "Arches" Stephen. Wasn't sure, but thought someone said one of the famous landmarks fell? Really enjoyed the "Double Windows" when there!

That moose is a "spike" i.e. a very young juvenile, probably on his first year away from mom. His antler's will fill out further in the next few years.
